Body builders
May 30th, 2008 by someoneyouknow
The big and buff. The tall and strong. How do body builders do it? They work at the gym, buff up, train others, and withstand that horrible BO. I go to the gym three times a week for one hour or 45 minutes and I get bored out of my mind and if I am not bored out of my mind, I will be so close to passing out with that BO coming from every other person around me. I know my BO doesn’t smell good (nobodies does) but, when it all piles up like that… can you say open a window. How on earth do they literally live there? I guess it is their personality and they just love it. And no duh, if you like to do something, why not take it as a profession. O well, I am sure that they (or you if you’re a body builder) think we are crazy, body builders may think “How cant they just love to work out.”

Tennis
May 22nd, 2008 by someoneyouknow
I started practicing tennis a week ago on Saturday. I had been playing before but, I had stopped about 4 years ago. So I didn’t remember anything about the game. The first day of practice I knew my stance and nothing else. My couch would pass the ball and when I hit that yellow fuzz ball it went flying to the complete side. He passed me 2 more and the exact same thing happened. He noticed from my first swing, that I was doing four things wrong. I was:1. Swinging way too hard.2. Had my wrists to tighten.3. My positioning of my racket.4. My footing was to close and badly placed.I knew I wouldn’t get it right the first day so I wasn’t too surprised but, I never realized that how you hold your racket and from what angle/height you should hit the ball. Also I never thought that “top spin” was so necessary to keep the ball on its path. And trust me this is maybe only ¼ of the list of things. So after my practice shots he showed me the movement I should have been making. He showed me from start to finish (and let me say that start was nothing like finish). He also showed me how to hide the racket while you’re moving so, your opponent couldn’t predict the form of your shot. Of course it took me maybe 25 shots just to get my feet in the right places before the ball came and then another 25 for when the ball came. Also if I thought it took forever to get the footing right, getting the shot right felt like never-ending. The shot considered of three steps. First hiding the racket and getting to the ball in stance, second getting the top spin on the ball and hitting the ball at the right angles, and third making a half turn (while setting the racket on your shoulders and then have the back foot on its tips) so you face the other side of the court and preparing your next shot. If I am making it sound easy… I suggest you pick up a racket and try.

Old Music Never Gets Old
May 11th, 2008 by someoneyouknow
Have you even just heard a band or album so much that you just get sick of them? I bet we all have at least once. And then one day you just find the album or CD. It may have been weeks, months, maybe even years but, the second you import it or start listening to it, you get hooked all over again. Then its like, “Why did I ever even stop listening to this?” Well I am asking this because it recently happened to me. I have always been a big fan of Papa Roach. I don’t even remember when I got this album of theirs. It is called lovehatetragedy. I stopped listening to this CD when I was about 11. Now three years later, I love it all over again. This CD has 11 songs and I am obsessed with all of them. My favorites are: “Life is a bullet” “Time and Time again” and “Born with Nothing, Die with Everything.” I only wished that that album had one of my favorite songs like “Last Resort.” I don’t know why I liked that song so much. I also found it funny that I had never seen any of Papa Roach’s music videos. But I guess it didn’t hurt because since I never saw the videos, I focused on the lyrics themselves. I don’t know if the videos were any good but, at least I know the songs were great. Also, apparently a lot of people like Papa Roach because their overall album average is 4½ stars. I hade stopped listening Papa Roach for three years and now I will most likely start listening to them all over again. I find it funny how even old things can always find their way into the new.

Nothing to Something
May 4th, 2008 by someoneyouknow
We have all, or at least most of us, been through (or going through) a writers block. I told my literature teach that I hadn’t posted anything for a week because I simply had nothing to write about. She asked me at the start of class, “Can you write your blog during class because you never know what is going around in your head” In my opinion she was right. You never know until you stop and really start to think, even if it’s for a quick minute, and I ended up with my last post about a bad habit I have about waiting last minute. It may not have been my best post, but I had never noticed how some random thoughts may turn into something you really want to say to the world. I think we always have something to write about even during a writers block, but we think it is nothing until we finally think of a way to make it something. But what happens when that something ends up being nothing or just a mix of random thoughts. Is it possible for something to become nothing? I am sure nothing for some people is something for other. “A mans trash is another mans treasure” or something like that. But sometimes, I guess, nothing could really become something, but is it possible for something to end up as nothing? This post for example may mean nothing to you, but it may mean something to someone else. I know I am saying “something and nothing” a little too much in this post, but it is because if I go into specifics I go into something and not nothing. And if you are confused by this post, trust me, so am I.

Last minute… the moment to stress.
April 25th, 2008 by someoneyouknow
Have you ever been told, “Don’t wait till the last minute, or else you mite regret it.” I will tell you know that I have. I have been told that more times then necessary. I know I shouldn’t but, for some reason, I still do. I don’t know why, it’s just how I am. For me waiting last minute is like waking up. In the morning I always wake up with my alarm clock at 6. Then when I turn it off I tell myself “I will just rest my eyes for a quick minute.” I go back to sleep. Then my dad wakes me up at 6:30. I tell him I am awake but when he leaves the room back to sleep I go. Then at 7, my sister comes in and screams at the top of her lungs and trust me, after a scare like that, you just don’t go back to sleep. So back to what I was talking about (little side track never hurt) waiting last minute I know its bad and I know I shouldn’t do it but, I still do. I tell myself I will do it in a minute. That minute turns to hours, then those hours turn to days, and then guess what… I am stuck and right in the middle of what I was trying to avoid, waiting last minute. Then I end up stressing over my work and sadly it’s become a habit I am trying to break out of. Let me say it isn’t easy; it’s like a drug addict going through rehab, and I know I don’t want to take this habit to high school.

The Future
April 18th, 2008 by someoneyouknow
I bet anything that we have all beeen asked this question more then once “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Why do people bother asking 5 year olds and under. I remember asking some boy in my bus that same question. He awsered “I want to be a Pokemon Master” I couldn’t help, but stare. After some seconds of silence I could finally react to the answer that was given. I simply said “If that’s what you want then go ahead, but trust me I bet you will want to change.” Then to pass the time a asked another little girl what she wanted to be when she grew up. She told me “I want to be a Karati master.” I didn’t expect that answer coming from a 5 year old girl, but o well I went with it. She told me that in class they learned to run up and across walls and right when she told me that I (yet again) had a confused look on my face. I almost started laughing because I was picturing this little 5 year old running up and across walls. But that Gosh the bus finally got to my stop. When the bus left I told my sister “Kids these days have “interesting” futures for themselves.” She looked at me then told me “You used to be like that” and deep inside I knew it was true.

Pictures, albums, and embarressment…
April 11th, 2008 by someoneyouknow
Pictures, family albums, embarrassment… we have all “been there and done that.” We have all been through countless embarrassing pictures for (sadly) school pictures, ID, passports. Then we will always (for some reason) tell one of our friends, and then he/she tells another friend and soon you have everyone trying to see that horrible (usually in every possible way) picture of you when you were 10, 13, and so on. Or what happens is you leave it somewhere and there it is, for the world to see. Next thing it’s on your friends MSN, Gmail, facebook, then you are telling yourself “O my God, why did I open my big mouth.” But the best part is well there isn’t a “best part” it all really simply, you know, stinks. But at least you can always look back and go “WOW, did (or do) I really look like that” and at least pictures help with one think, memory. All I can say is I can’t remember how I looked a year ago even if I didn’t have my sister, mom, and dad taking all these pictures.

Freedom of Speech
April 6th, 2008 by someoneyouknow
Freedom of speech, the first amendment in the Bill of Rights. This amendment can be seen or viewed in many different ways. I think that this means we can say whatever and whenever, but that doesn’t mean that consequences cant be given. We always have the option to say whatever we want. If you owed some organized crime group $10,000 and they captured or found you… you can say “Well to bad I don’t want to pay.” When that happens, basically, you can kiss yourself good bye, but you had the option to say that or something else. You said what you wanted to say and expressed yourself to a dozen mobsters and if there is anything I have learned off movies is… you are dead, and consequence soon (if not instantly) followed. As a blogger on this site, I think that freedom of press (since it isn’t really “speech”) is simply limited. I could say something racist, cuss, give personal information, but consequences would really soon follow (trust me). Also freedom of press should also mean “Know who you are talking to before you say anything.” Right now, for all I know, you are one of my teachers, a friend, or some 20 year old in Mexico, or a 10 year old in Spain. So bloggers need to think that everyone and all ages are reading their blog. So naturally bloggers will limit what or how they express themselves, but of course there are some exceptions and that is why freedom of press has to be limited.

Passion
March 28th, 2008 by someoneyouknow
When someone says, “What’s your passion” I think, what would I like to waste my free time on? I don’t think I have only one hardcore passion, but if I could, I think I would like to play sports more often. The kinds of sports like soccer, American football, basket ball, and hockey. I have a passion for these sports because they all make you reach your maximum fitness abilities, while having fun with other people. Also because you have to rely on others because they are all team sports and without team work… good luck, is all I have to say. I also like these sports because almost everyone has a different role to play as, and those roles can possible change while playing.
